My flight must haves...

ON MONDAY I'M GOING TO ROME!!
And I'm so so excited about it! I absolutely can't wait because we're staying right in the middle of Rome! The thing is, I'm not just excited about the fact I'm going to Rome, whenever I go on holiday abroad I get just as excited about going to the airport as I do going to another country. I also get excited about packing. I don't know why I guess it's all just the build up and everything isn't it. But today I decided to tell you about my Flight Must Haves...

Always take something to read.
I started reading the Mortal Instruments books so I have saved the second one specially for my holiday. I'm also taking a Magazine (and I did not just buy it because of the free nail varnish...) but I usually buy a book or magazine in WHSmiths in the airport too.

Always pack for every type of weather.
I'm going to wear a thick jumper - because it's cold here - and take my thinner jumper with me. I'm also taking a hat because it will definitely help to hide my terrible hair at 4 in the morning and I can hide my face in it if I fall asleep on the plane! I'm also taking sunglasses because I have no idea what the weather is like in Rome.

Take a small bottle of moisturiser.
Aeroplanes dry my skin out so much! So I'm taking moisturiser and lip balm (but make sure it's under 100ml other wise you can't take it in your hand luggage)

electronics
I have to take my music with me! (I might even have a playlist especially for the journey...). And also I have to take my camera with me. I absolutely love it when you are right above the clouds and it looks like you could jump on them so I always take photos out the window. By the way it took me ages to figure out how to take a photo of my camera so appreciate the effort!

So I will probably be boring you all with my holiday pictures next week!

Sorry...

No Quick Tuesday Tip today because I wanted to show you my new buys!
As I said in a post before I wanted some MUA lipstick so today I went to Superdrug ad bought some but they didn't have orange or purple in stock! BUT instead I got a nice dark red (that doesn't look that dark on the pictures...) and a matte peach which I love! Sorry about the terrible pictures you can't really see the colours that well because it gets dark so early now! (yay for a new season!)

YAYYYY! You have no idea how happy I am (I don't even know why I mean, they're just lipsticks!) but it was all because of just £2!

A treat for Halloween...

This is not a fashion post. Nor is it a healthy beauty boosting recipe. But it's Halloween and I just thought you might want an unhealthy, really fattening and super sweet treat for you to eat. (That almost sounded like a poem)
So here is my recipe for...

OREO CAKES

You will need:
6oz of caster sugar
6oz of self raising flour
6oz of butter (I used stork)
2-3 eggs (I used 2 and then added a bit of milk in later because I should of used 3)
a pack of Oreos (the original ones are best)
Icing sugar and more butter if you want butter icing on the top

First get all you ingredients and put them in a mixing bowl. I cannot be bothered with sifting or creaming butter and sugar together; I think it's a waste of time. So mix all your ingredients together with a wooden spoon or electric mixer.

Then put a tea spoon of the mix into every cake case. Don't fill them too much!

Then put an Oreo into each case. I couldn't do this because believe it or not Tesco had sold out of original Oreos so I had to have double stuffed. There is less in a pack!

Then cover the Oreos with more cake mix

Once you've covered them put them in the oven at 180 °C

When they start to go golden on the top and you can smell them stick a knife or something like this into one of the cakes. If the knife comes out clean then they're ready.

When they are cooked you shouldn't be able to see the Oreos but because I had to use double stuffed they kind of took over my cakes! The smaller Oreos won't be as thick and so you won't be able to see them till you bite into it. If you want to put butter icing on them just put a bit of butter in a bowl and sift loads of icing sugar onto it. Mix it together and if it's too thick just add some vanilla extract and a spoon of milk. Keep tasting it till you get what you want.

My new obsession...

Why do I look silly wearing lipstick?!
I absolutely LOVE it! But can never find a colour that I don't look like I'm dressing for Halloween (or a kid that got into Mum's make up). SO anyway, the other day I went in search of lipstick to suit me, and I'm also dyeing (is that how you spell it?) for a purple lipstick and an orange lipstick! I am in love with these colours at the moment and I have been seeing people everywhere wearing them! They won't suit me but they just look so amazing on some people! I might be stupid but I never realised how expensive lipstick is? Or good lipstick anyway. When I told my friend she said "go to Superdrug and get the MUA stuff. It's well cheap and really good." So after looking on their website I have to get some. Here are the colours that are on my lipstick wish list...

So maybe I'm going over the top. But seriously it's hard to find good lipstick cheap! (and I love a bargain) They're only a pound! Hopefully I'll buy some this weekend!

Quick Tip Tuesday...

This is connected with this Quick Tip Tuesday. If your nails are stained then dip them in lemon juice along with the olive oil. It will get rid of the stains!

I Just Love Halloween...

So I'm really upset that I'm not at home for Halloween this year. I shouldn't be because I'm going on holiday to Rome (YAYYY) but I'm kind of sad that I wont get to dress up and go out with my friends. For some reason this year I keep getting these ideas of what I could dress as so, instead of wasting all my ideas, I'm sharing them with you in the form of a huge list...

If there's two of you, go as...

The Blues Brothers!
It's such a simple outfit! Just get a white shirt, black tie, black jacket, black pants, black sunglasses and a
black trilby hat!

Mario and Luigi.
for mario get a red tshirt, for Luigi a green one. Then just wear dungarees or jeans with a hat to match. Also don't forget the moustaches! My friend is actually doing this, this year but has ordered the outfit online.

Cosmo and Wanda (Fairly Odd Parents)
for cosmo just spray your hair green and put on a white shirt and black tie. For Wanda spray your hair pink and put on a yellow t shirt. Then put on a crown and get a wand!

or a big group of you could go as...

all the Disney princesses
This looks great if there's loads of you!

or teletubbies!
Another one of my friends is doing this! She ordered a head band online  for the headpiece but is getting a plain coloured dress to match and sewing a square of silver fabric on the front of it. It's really simple!

or if you want something different

patrick star
get a pink hoodie/jacket  and green shorts. draw or stick or sew or clip the face of Patrick on the back of the hood so it looks like his head when you put your hood up. Or you could just get a mask of patrick...

micky mouse
I actually have red shorts from topshop that look like mickey Mouse shorts. Just put a black top on and some mouse ears and maybe some white gloves and you're done.

red riding hood
This is really easy if you have a red coat with a hood or a red blanket or sheet or just some fabric. You can basically wear anything because you just put the red fabric over you like a hood. And you have to carry a basket!

Dorothy
This is what I would have gone as this year. *cry* If you're going out with friends you could go as all the characters. I was going to go as Dorothy because I would just have to get a blue dress and then wear it with
my red Doc Martins! Just tie your hair up in bunches and carry a basket with a toy dog in.

A shadow hunter
Super simple! Just dress in black, draw runes on yourself in eye liner and carry some of those see through plastic forks!

Penny from Hairspray
Dresses like hers are literally everywhere at the moment! I walked into topshop and immediately said to my cousin "It's a Penny dress!" Then just tie your hair in bunches (with a bit of volume) and carry a lollipop.

If you can't be bothered going in full costume just do your make up as...

day of the dead
Lots of eyeliner is required! Or you can use face paint (probably a better idea)

crow/bird
I got these feather eye lashes really cheap last year from ASDA!

Just go for crazy dark make up

Or you could do the mean girls thing and just put some animal ears on

Or wear a onesie!
Honestly though your onesie can't be as cool as mine...
sorry about the terrible picture (it's a bat in case you didn't know)

The Cold Air Is Coming...

Winter is coming. We're already in Autumn! This means that it's going to get CHILLY. And whenever it gets the slightest bit cold my lips and skin get really dry. So, my advice to you this winter is do what I do and put a lip balm in every single one of your bags; even if you don't use that bag still put one in there just in case. And always remember: You can never have too many lip balms.
My lip split the other day because it was dry and it actually looked like I'd been in a fight...
My absolute favourite lip balm are the Lush lip balms. They just smell so good! I have a "Maple Taffy" one (that smells of maple pancakes) and a "Honey Trap" one (which smells of honey believe it or not). They are really good and help so much in the winter. I also absolutely love the Lush lip scrubs. I have a chocolate one and it tastes so good and makes your lips so soft!
I really recommend them!

Quick Tip Tuesday...

Heat up your eyelash curlers with your hairdryer for a couple of seconds (not too long though!). This will keep your eyelashes curled for longer.

Chester Buys...

So, as I'd hoped, I went to Chester this weekend - shopping! I just thought I'd share with you what I bought!
First I went to Schuh to get some plain black vans because I've been wanting some for ages now. I can pretty much wear them with everything, whenever, where ever! Plus my etnies are wrecked now and I am running out of shoes...

Then after walking round a few other shops that have everything I can't afford (e.g. Topshop, River Island) I went to Primark. Words cannot express my love for this shop. I don't think you understand. Yes, when you go there it is always busy and cramped and there is just stuff everywhere and it's not organised very well but you can get a t-shirt for £3! IS THAT NOT AMAZING? So, after trying on about a billion things (and after accidentally picking up  pair of jeans that were 4 sizes too big for me) I bought a plain white t shirt with folded sleeves to tie dye that was only £3.50! And I also bought some black frilly socks to go with my new Vans for £1.50.

Then I went to New look and bought some Autumn/Winter jeans for 20 quid that I absolutely love. I have needed new jeans for a while now and so got a dark grey/black pair to go with everything and because I thought they were a bit wintery and you always need a new pair of skinny jeans.

Then to end the day, I went to The Funky Cow milkshake bar to get a Galaxy Cookie Crumble milkshake! Which was absolutely amazing if you were wondering.
So yeah, that's it!

It's Time...

October. The time when everything dies beautifully. It's cold, but not unbearably cold (usually). Everything smells perfect, especially walking outside at night. The leaves are all crunchy, not wet and squished on the floor. I'm sat inside wrapped in a blanket in front of the fire drinking mocha while it gets dark and starry outside. I have a reason to eat a billion sweets in one night and not have people think I have a food problem.

I love it.

I especially love the fact that October is classed as "sweater season" (I call them jumpers but sweater season goes better). I can wear my big, unflattering, knitted men's jumper and not get looked at funny. I honestly wish it was "sweater season" all year, but I don't particularly want to wear a thick jumper in the sun. So, anyway, hopefully I'm going to Chester this weekend and I might go to the men's section of primark again and get a new jumper (seriously though the men's jumpers are so much better than the women's!). But after searching through the internet I found some other jumpers that I absolutely love...

I usually dislike anything light coloured (it just stains so easy!) but I really love these colours and think that these jumpers are just so cute!
jumpers from asos/pop boutique, asos, and topshop (blue and white)

I absolutely love these jumpers! I don't know why but I really like the brown/burgundy/maroon colour for some reason.

As you know I'm obsessed with Moonrise Kingdom (this is why I like the beige jumper with the small fox) and I recently watched Fantastic Mr. Fox (also by Wes Anderson) and loved it! This is why I have put a fox jumper on here! And it's nearly Halloween so why not get a ghost jumper for it!?

jumpers from newlook (1,2,3) and asos.

I just thought I'd show you my favourite jumpers to finish this post!
My jumpers are from Primark (the men's section), newlook and missguided.

So they're my favourites; hopefully I'll be adding a new favourite to my wardrobe this weekend. I hope you're all enjoying this season as much as me!

Quick Tip Tuesday...

First of all...

I have probably mentioned it before but I love October! Its perfect! So, to really get ready for Autumn, I have dyed my hair darker and got rid of my dip dye (I got bored of it and thought it looked too summery) so I thought I'd share my few tips about hair dying.

1. Paint your nails first. Sounds stupid I know, but you have no idea how many times I've stained my nails with dye. When you paint your nails first it just comes off so easy because it's on the nail varnish not your nail.

2. VASELINE! Put it on your hairline and ears! It helps the dye stay off these places, I admit I still get dye on my skin but not as much.

3. Always put an old towel on the floor. I guess this is kind of obvious. Even when the bottle says drip free it can still manage to get everywhere.

Hope these help!
